Charlie is originally from St. Simons Island, GA and graduated from University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!!!). He entered the corporate world of banking with Barnett Bank in 1989 and was a commercial lender for nine years. During this time he earned a MBA from University of North Florida. The biggest deal that he cut during his banking days was his marriage to Coco in 1997. Although he enjoyed the business world (minus the suits and ties), God had other plans and led him to graduate from Reformed Theological Seminary in 2000 and become a minister. Charlie moved to South Shore in 2006 to start Christ Community Church. Charlie likes to spend time with his girlfriend (this is also his wife for those of you who have forgotten that your spouse is your lover); his kids – Jessica (a Florida graduate – Go Gators!), Trent , Emma , Chas and Jedidiah ; and if time permits – watch sports, read books, play basketball, dabble in handyman projects, eat, stay up late and play video games.
Charlie is married to Coco (Peterson) Lewis. Coco grew up in Ft. Lauderdale playing sports and attending Miami Dolphin football games. Her family and a K-12 education at Westminster Academy were instrumental in her developing a relationship with the Lord from an early age. After graduating from Florida Southern College in Lakeland she moved to Orlando, Florida where she met Charlie. Before she began working at home full time she was a Christian elementary school teacher for 11 years. These days most of Coco’s life revolves around her kids. When not playing with her kids (and other more demanding tasks) Coco likes spending time with her boyfriend (Charlie), friends, going to the beach, spending time outdoors and traveling (more adventurous with little ones).
